From Me To You

måndag 30 juli 2012

Hello, friends!
As usual when I try myself on some new technique, the result is not so very good.
This time became my attempt with Dylusions almost completely unusable. But the leaves were, after all, perfectly OK, and greedy as I am, I wanted to still use them for something.
So today I give you a simple card with wonderful colors, and I have used the sketch at Less is More.
I think the sentiment might have been placed a little higher up to get some better balance in the card. But now it's too late to change that:)
The dots are made with white Pearl Maker, and the most lovely lace from The Funkie Junkie Boutique was added. Not much more to say about it.
Have a great week ahead!

So Beautiful Colors

lördag 28 juli 2012

Welcome to my post for today!
I have had a paper for some time now from the Forever Summer collection, which I think is so beautiful. It has so nice pink, blue / purple hues. It's called Melissa Tulip, and now it has become a card of it. Unfortunately, I've been looking at PaperCraftScandinavia, and I can not find it anymore, maybe it's sold out. But would it be so, there are so many other beautiful papers to choose from.

Well, if you can´t get the paper, I promise that you can get hold of everything else that I used for my card at PaperCraftScandinavia. As this text stamp, for example, I have already mentioned that it is a favorite.

The corrugated cardboard heart had some white crackle paint on, and round the paper edges I painted with white acrylic paint.
And here's another couple of lovely stamps, both new and older.

These flowers matches the paper perfect. I also added buttons, one metal charm, sweet laces and a pearl string. One punched out butterfly finished of my card.

Don´t forget the Inkido Summer Challenge which has a Water Theme. You have until the 31th July to enter the challenge.
As always thanks for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

To A Absolutely Fantastic Person

torsdag 26 juli 2012

Hi there!
Hope you are all having a great week! I saw the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room  Oh-So Pretty In Pink, and it got me started. And no, it's certainly not juice in these glasses, but maybe some pink bubbles instead.

This time I used Distress Markers on water color paper, and so the stamp from Lili of the Valley of course. The edges was painted with Picket Fence Crackle paint.
The sentiment (brand new) from K-design was stamped in Coffee Archival ink and cut out, then sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Papers from Crea Motions and Inkido was cut, and the edges were distressed. One heart-shaped doilie was placed behind the image. The most lovely lace from The Funkie Junkie´s Boutique was also adhered.

Colored in Seam Binding and a brad was edhered together with some flowers, a Spellbinders Floral Fluorishes die cut and parts of a Rhinestone Swirl. That´s all for today!
Thanks so much for looking!

What A Dream!

onsdag 25 juli 2012

Hello, and thanks for stopping by!
Just a little quick post from me today. I made a tag that I want to show you, I think it has a little humor.

The tag was first painted with gesso and then text stamped, the edges were sponged with distrss ink.
I used one image from Free Vintage Digital Stamps, crackle paint on the edges, and then I added lace and a metal charm.
The bottom text was written on our old typewriter. I finished by tying a bow of colored seam binding and a button.
Have great summerday!
Hugs, Birgit

Sketch With A Spin

måndag 23 juli 2012

Good morning, and happy Monday friends!
This week over at The Sweet Stop they have a sketch with a spin to have fun with numbers.
Now I do not know how fun these numbers here on ny card are, but I really liked the sketch and made a card. Then the numbers had to come as they pleased, and they wanted to be in the birds' beaks.

For my card I used a freebie that I have had saved some time on my computer from Create with TLC.
I colored it with Copic Markers, and as you might can see I first painted the butterfly with Twinklings Heavenly White for a shimmering look and over it, I put both a little Star Dust Stickles and Glossy Accents.

The chipboard bird was first painted with white gesso and then stamped with a small text stamp. I went over the edges with black Distress ink, and gave it a layer clear rock candy Crackle paint and let it dry.

The sentiment is also a freebie from Create with TLC, but the little tag has a stamp from Glitz design.
Everything is layered on Victoria gardens Echo Park papers.
I added some sweet lace, a button and seam binding that I colored in with Distress ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!
Hugs, Birgit

For A Girl Who Loves Horses

lördag 21 juli 2012

Hi friends!
Just popping in to share a book card I made yesterday.
I choose papers from My Mind´s Eye, and one vintage image from Antique Images.

I covered over the image and stamped with a pair of horse stamps from Inkadinkado.
Round the edges I added red Stickles and framed it with Spellbinders lattice Rectangles die.

I colored the lace a little with Copic markers. Twine was also colored in with Distress Ink and tied around the page. The sentiment from You Do was stamped and cut out, the edges was sponged with vintage photo Distress Ink. One fabric flower was made by swirling strips of fabric.

For the swirls I used a pair of Spellbinders Floral Fluorishes dies. Pearls and flowers finish of the front side. On the spine I placed a Latchette Border die cut from Memory Box and a brad.

I used seam binding which I colored in with Distress Ink in shades of brown to tie together the card.
I think that´s about all, here is the inside...

Have a wonderful day!

You Are No.1

måndag 16 juli 2012

Hello friends!
Then it was time for a new week ... again! I do not know where the time flies, half the summer has already passed! And today it is not hot out here with me I'll tell you, only 17*C.
Today's card I thought could be for a man even though there are flowers on it. I think everyone likes flowers, even men, if they are not too cute.

I have used stamps from Glitz Design, and the flowers are stamped with Distress Markers on a frame that I cut out of an Echo Park sheets of paper, I had to touch up the colors a bit by hand.

I used the Ladies&Gents papers from Webster´s Pages. On the inside I made a note pocket, for money or whatever you like.

The metal corners from Tim Holtz was first layered with gesso, then I dripped over Oregano Alcohol Ink. and simply let it dry. I really like the green color they got.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I wish you a nice, warm and sunny summerday wherever you are.
Hugs, Birgit

Christmas Gift Bag

lördag 14 juli 2012

Hello, and happy Saturday!
A few days ago it tumbled down a package in my mailbox from Inkido/Papercraftscandinavia with Christmas papers.
Oh dear, I thought. It happened to be one of the hottest days so far this summer and some Christmas mood, I just could not feel.
But I grabbed an old scrapbook paper, and just like that, I was immediately inspired to make this gift bag. In addition, the nice images and papers are inspiration in itself.

I used one image from Santas Christmas sheet and the Winter Stars paper from the Forever Santa collection.
Around the edges of the image, I put on Picket Fence Crackle paint and sprinkled on glitter.

The chipboard star was first painted with a layer gesso, then stamped with the Snow Crystal stamp before I gave it a layer glitter Stickles.

A Christmas stamp was stamped and placed behind the image, together with one doily and gauze.
Some flowers and leaves was adhered in the left corner. A tag made of the same papers was tied round the handle.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend!

Live Your Dream

torsdag 12 juli 2012

Hello, and thanks for stopping by!
Today´s card was a fun project. I wanted to make a stair step card, but they usually not become so good, for some reason. But this I like.

I started by stamping the big stamp from Dylusions Traveling Travis. The image was colored with Copic Markers and cut out.
From the beginning I did not know if there would be a he or a she, but I decided finally it would be a he, so I fixed a little beard for him. And in his ear, I hung a chain and a safety pin to give him a punky style.

I cut the image into three parts and adhered them on the card which is made of paper from BoBunny Little Miss Lizzie.
The sentiment was made on the computer and printed directly on a post card that I cut from a Ephemeria Collections sheet. I stamped Happy Birthday to another one, and adhered them together with the other.

The fence is made on black cardstock with a Memory Box die. The clock was the last I adhered and I do not remember wherefrom I got it.

And now we arrive at the most important! My stair step cards tend to be heavy at the back and fold in all different directions, so I simply took a black ribbon around the card that holds it together a bit.
It turned out great, and the effect of the cut legs appears more.
That´s all from me today!

Enjoy Your Day

måndag 9 juli 2012

Hello and happy Monday!
Today I have a card for a man to show you. I have tried to give it a simple design using the sketch over at Charisma Cardz Challenge this week.

I used an image from Phindy´s Place and a Reprint sentiment stamp. A mayfly and another smaller stamp from Pinkpaislee the Butterfly Garden collection was also used.
A piece of leather from a twisted rope was adhered under the sentiment, I thought it looked like waves.

But I started by coloring the image with Copics and adhered it to a piece of cardstock cut and embossed with one Fleur De Lis Squares die. A few stickers from Tim Holtz was adhered over the image.

Prima papers from the Nature Garden Collection was used. A blue paper ribbon behind the image was added and I think that´s all I have to say about this project. Here is the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

The Bride And Groom Is Congratulated

fredag 6 juli 2012

Happy Friday everyone!
I´m back today with one more wedding card. I´s an easel card,
and this time I used a digital stamp from Elisabeth Bell that I colored with Copics.

I made the sentiment on the computer and printed out. Then it was cut and embossed.
The image were cut out with the out of the box technique before it was adhered over a white piece of cardstock that had been cut and embossed with one Spellbinders Heart Circles die.

The bird papers were bought from Panduro several years ago and are probably not to purchase anymore. The edges was first painted with white acrylic paint and then Picket Fence Crackle Paint.

A bow was tied  and topped with a rose. Some rose ribbon was adhered underneath.
A stick pin and bead leaves finish of the card.

I forgot to say that the wings got some Star Dust Stickles for some sparkling.
He is so cute, the little one!
Have a wonderful weekend, spread a little love!
Hugs, Birgit

Today You Will Be Celebrated

onsdag 4 juli 2012

Hello, blog friends!
This week at Frilly and Funkie they have a fun challenge which is about textures and use of material (fabric).
Here is my take on it...

I had an old blouse with floral embroidery on and which I were planning to throw away.
I cut out a strip from it and then I used my Distress Markers in a few different colors. Thereafter I wet the fabric lightly with water, so that the colors floated out and mixed a bit.

In the middle of each one I placed a white flower and a brad.
I cut out a lovely image from a Slöjd Detaljer paper. Above it I added a piece of a cake-paper.
And in the lower part shows a piece of paper lace.

The sentiment from Stämpelkällan was stamped on an old address label.
The sweet papers comes from Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics paper pad.
I added some silver details and a blue glittery brad.

Okay... I think that´s all.
Now I'll go out and enjoy the sunny summer weather we have today here in Sweden.
Hugs, Birgit
